People often want to know why the Dutch cycle and how we got where we are in terms of sustainable mobility. Part of our work abroad involves translating transportation planning, policy and design approaches that have proven successful. We are proud to share our tradition, but the story is not over. We are still working to develop and improve sustainable transportation systems and mobility practice so people of all ages and abilities can participate in society. This is why we continue teaching children to cycle at school, improving connections between public transport and neighbourhoods and incorporating new technology with mobility.
